Garri
Garri is a grainy cream-white flour made from processed cassava. There are two types of garri’ White Garri and Yellow Garri. Both the white garri and yellow garri are made from freshly processed cassava dough. However, yellow garri is made by adding palm oil into the cassava dough during the frying stage of garri production. Garri is heavily consumed in many West African homes from traditional recipes like Nigerian Eba eaten with soup to the Ghananian Garri Forto/Jollof and the Togolese Garri Piñon. In Cameroon, Garri is the main ingredient in classic Cameroonian snacks like soaking garri/cold watta garri.
